Information About the Pottery
Kim Goforth enjoys incorporating floral and tree designs on her colorful pottery. She either carves the floral design or uses a technique called slip trailing. Slip is liquid clay which Kim mixes to the appropriate consistency allowing her to then draw the floral design on her pots. Kim recently started using slip to draw detailed henna designs on some of her pottery
Kim uses a stoneware clay body and fires her pots in a gas kiln to 2400f. Kim’s pottery is fully functional and designed for everyday use. Kim uses glazes with vibrant colors such as reds, greens and blues. She mixes her own glazes and does not use lead.
The pottery is oven, microwave and dishwasher safe. If used in an oven, place in a cool oven and raise to temperature and keep the pottery off of burners. With these few simple instructions, the pottery will last for years to come.
